For the first Artist Tribute Series cake I chose one of my favorite contemporary photographers: Nobuyoshi Araki. I think there are a lot of correlations between food and sex (gluttony...sin...guilt...etcetera), so it was a good fit. After I select my artist I have to choose an image. Unforunately it has to be rather tame, because I order my photo tranfers (the images are printed on rice paper with edible ink, which I then cut out and transfer to the frosting) from an outside source. The image above is what I started with...not my first choice, but it had to do.
